“This is Bob,” explains Terry Stricter’s assistant. “He is a Level Six. He’s been with us for four years. There’s something he wants to tell you.” Bob sits with a paper hat on his head.
The scene shifts to the studio where Dave works.
“Hey, Jack, just takin’ her out for a wash,” says Dave, driving a camera crane truck out of the studio lot.
“Okay, Dave,” says Jack the gate guard.
Time passes.
“And we still have this one last scene, the big ending, or we don’t have a movie,” says Bowfinger, in his office, talking to Dave.”
“I know what else we don’t have,” says Dave.
“What?” asks Bowfinger.
“Permission,” says Dave.
“Did you know Tom Cruise had no idea he was in that vampire movie till two years later?” asks Bowfinger.
The phone rings.
“Hello?” says Bowfinger, answering the phone. “Hi, Jiff.”
