“Hey, Jerry, how are you?” says Bowfinger, shaking hands with Jerry Renfro. “Bobby Bowfinger, Bowfinger Films. We worked together on that thing you know, a couple years ago?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What thing?” asks Jerry Renfro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The, uh, famous movie?” mumbles Bowfinger. Bowfinger turns to his out-of-order cell phone. “Hey. Oh, hi, Kit. How are you? My man! How’s Dolores? Good. Well, you are first in line for the script, Kit. You can’t be more first than first.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Can I talk to him?” asks Jerry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Huh?” asks Bowfinger, puzzled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Can I\u2026 can I talk to Kit?” repeats Jerry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Absolutely,” says Bowfinger. He turns back to the broken cell phone. “Kit. Hey, Kit? Got a surprise for you.
Kit? Kit? I’m losing you\u2026”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Got a bad line there?” asks Renfro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yeah. These cell phones are so bad,” agrees Bowfinger. “You know, Universal is begging me for this script, but I don’t want to give it to ’em. Because they screwed me once. You really oughta take a look.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Let me see,” says Jerry Renfro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yeah, take a look at it,” says Bowfinger, handing Renfro the script to “Chubby Rain.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It starts nice,” says Renfro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It does, doesn’t it?” says Bowfinger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And then all this,” says Renfro, rifling through the entire script without looking. “Yeah.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Right,” agrees Bowfinger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Gotcha, suckas!” says Renfro, reading the last page. “Wow, that is a catch phrase.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Isn’t that good?” asks Bowfinger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
