Bowfinger closes the script.
“Wow,” says Bowfinger. “Great script!” Bowfinger’s dog Betsy walks into the office and sits down.
“Betsy,” says Bowfinger, “it’s now or never.” Betsy looks at him.
“We are gonna make a movie.” says Bowfinger.
The phone answering machine says, “Bowfinger International Pictures.”
A voice on the line says, “It’s Carol. How do I say this? I have an offer to go to Edmonton to do Cats. It’s a small role, but I’ve got to take it. You keep promising me…”
“No!” shouts Bowfinger, grabbing the phone. “Carol, don’t take that job!”
“But it’s been eight months!” pleads Carol.
“We are going to make a motion picture,” says Bowfinger. “I promise you that.”
“But you’ve promised before!” says Carol.
“I know. I know,” replies Bowfinger. “Just be here tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.”
“But I can’t afford…” begins Carol.
“Please!” says Bowfinger.
“But you always…” begins Carol again, but Bowfinger hangs up on her
