Kit is talking with his agent on the patio of the Rodeo Grille.

“I know I ain’t gonna be treated like Mighty Whitey in this town,” says Kit.

Meanwhile, across the street, Carol is getting ready for her scene. “I put in 25 years in the theater before coming to Hollywood,” says Carol to her hair and makeup person.

Bowfinger runs up to Carol, and is shocked to see her in a bald cap, sitting next to her wig.

“Carol, we are almost ready,” says Bowfinger, recovering.

“My darling,” says Carol, “I still don’t see why I can’t meet the man I’m going to be working with.”

“Well, I just spoke with Kit,” says Bowfinger. “He wants to impress you so much with his acting, and he needs his total concentration.”

“Oh, that’s just young!” says Carol.

“I know,” agrees Bowfinger.

“I wish just once I could work with someone who had honed their craft,” says Carol.

“Right,” says Bowfinger. “But right now, we need that scene, Carol.”

“You’ll get your scene,” says Carol. “He may not be a professional, but I am.”

“Oh, Carol,” says Bowfinger, kissing her before running back to the camera van.

“White boys get all the Oscars,” continues Kit at the restaurant. “It’s a… it’s a fact.”

“We know that, but look, look-” begins Kit’s agent.

“Did I get a nomination?” asks Kit. “No. And you know why? ‘Cause I ain’t played none of them
slave roles or get my ass whipped. That’s when you get the nominations. Black dude play a slave role, get his ass whipped, he gets the nomination. White boy play an idiot, they get the Oscar.”

The agent shakes his head.
