“Weird,” says Bowfinger. “Well, we’ll just start loading in the equipment.”
“You want me to call him?” asks the restaurant staff guy.
“No, I’ll call him from the cell phone,” replies Bowfinger, who steps outside to the van.
“There’s a guy in there who’s vacuuming,” says Bowfinger to Slater. “Tell him you’re from the studio.” The crew walks inside the restaurant.
A patrol car pulls up and a police officer steps out of the car.
“Who’s in charge here?” asks the police officer.
“I am,” says Bowfinger.
“Do you people have a permit to film here today?” asks the police officer.
“Oh, yeah,” nods Bowfinger.
“May I see it, please?” asks the police officer.
“Can I talk to you for a second?” says Bowfinger, pulling the officer aside. “Did you ever think about acting?”
