“Okay. That was nice,” says Bowfinger, leading the audition woman to the door. “We have your photos,
and we’ll call you when we decide.”
“I have… I have some new photos,” says the audition woman.
“No, these are good,” says Bowfinger, holding up her head shots.
“You hated me, didn’t you?” asks the audition woman.
“No, you were good,” says Bowfinger. “You were very good.” The audition woman leaves, and Bowfinger’s smile evaporates. He drops the photos on the floor.
“She was good,” says Slater.
“She had the personality of a zip code in Kansas,” replies Bowfinger. “She was good, but she didn’t have IT.”
“What do you mean, IT?” asks Slater.
“IT is a special quality,” says Bowfinger. “No matter what is going on, you cannot take your eyes off that person. Every word they say, every gesture you’re interested in.”
“Do I have IT?” asks Slater.
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t listening. What?” asks Bowfinger.
“Do I have IT?” asks Slater.
“Yes, you do,” replies Bowfinger.
“I thought I did!” says Slater.
“Next!” says Bowfinger. “Who’s next?”
Daisy enters the office. “Is this where I go to be a star?” she asks.
